Katya has been obsessed with Dostoevsky since she first read the words “I am a sick man… I am a spiteful man.” She has a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature and her research focuses on Russian, French, and German 18th and 19th century literature and philosophy. Katya decided to launch @dostoevskyordoesntshe in 2019 because there weren’t enough Dostoevsky memes on the internet. When the pandemic began, she and her Twitter comrade, Arkady (@karamazovas), started the Dostoevsky Book Club on Discord, which remains a vibrant and supportive community dedicated to enjoying and discussing Dostoevsky’s work.
